Cousin Artelia is happiest when she is expressing in some creative, artistic way, and not conforming to strict routine. In a large group of comparative strangers, she is quiet and rather shy, unable to express herself, not really wanting to become involved in conversation. On the other hand, among friends with whom she feels at ease,she is expressive, witty, and quite charming. She is deep, philosophical, and refined, but her extremely sensitive nature causes her to become depressed and self-pitying over any real or imagined slight. Like a lot of our family, she finds the beauties of nature, fine music, art, and literature--all the deeper things of life--inspiring. She must guard against emotional excesses, which usually result in depletion of energy, creating a desire for quick-energy foods. She suffers terribly through skin irritations, blood conditions, back trouble, and later, through arthritis.... not to mention heart, lung, or bronchial weaknesses.
